ABOUT CCDC
Introduction

Century Contemporary Dance Company is established in year 2000. Choreographer/artistic director Shu-Fen Yao tries to create her works based on the contemporary way of life and its culture in the dawns of the 21st century, combining various forms of performing arts, and cooperating with artists from different art disciplines. She opens up a new page in the history of modern dance in Taiwan by creating a strong relation between artisctic dance form and people's real life.

Her works combine movements, theatre, visual arts, and even architecture. By taking elements from everyday life, and put them together in a new and poetic way, she hopes that her works can in some way reflect the inner truth of life.

Century Contemporary Dance Company has created numerous works including: “Sortie”, “Pub．Pop”, “Dream Hatched”, “Peeping”, “Penthouse”, “Fading Pictures”, “Morendo, transposed from a minor to E major”, “From Sight-seeing to Space-moving”, “Ocean Carnival...Weeping Ceiling”, “Dream Hatched II, “Four winds, Four bliss” ”, “Rent”, “I get a kick out of you”, 2007 “Welcome: Flashmob to Yongkang Street, Taipei”, ’’Taste of the Thirty’’, 2008 “Welcome: Flashmob to Yongkang Street , Taipei”, “20.30.40’s Dream Fantasy’’, the latest oeuvre ‘’Igor Stravinsky Les Noces’’ , 2009 “Welcome: Flashmob to Yongkang Street , Taipei”, and 2010 “Duplication of Dream”, 2010“Welcome: Flashmob to Yongkang Street, Taipei”, Igor Stravinsky“Les Noces / Le Sacre Du Printemps”which gained The 9th Taishin Arts Award—Annual Performing Arts Award Winner.
